San Diego area is the "mildest" of all areas we service. We don't run into Africanized bees very often. The weather is also the easiest to work in since it usually is between 75-85 degrees during most days of the summer. This makes working in the bee suit a lot easier. Hive size tends to be about 30-50 pounds but can get much larger if the honey bees are not removed for an extended period of time. After performing a live bee removal in San Diego County we drop all of our honey bees off to a beekeeper in Encinitas.  If we are working in the far Southern part of San Diego County the beekeeper will meet us at the house we performed the bee removal at.  This ensures that the honey bees are in good hands on the long drive back up to Encinitas.

 

Rancho Santa Fe Bee Hive Removal

The three pictures below are of a beehive located in the attic of a house in Rancho Santa Fe CA. It was quite a large beehive. About 90 pounds total. LOTS of honey in this one. There are two different angles of the beehive to give a good idea of the overall size, the last photo depicts the finished drywall repair.
